DAY 5. where i live. our paddock .by rozComment by SandyP: Isn't this thread great to get us looking at our world through a photo's eyes :) I love looking at your place. It's the kind of place that makes me feel like I'm out of the suburbs and enjoying more open spaces. I love these huge tall trees. And you do an amazing job of compensating for the bright sky! I'm impressed.
But it will be great to see some pictures of Picton tomorrow too :)

DAY 5.5 . where i live . my roadby rozComment by SandyP: I think you did a great job! Did you use a gradient layer? You did it very well, and its amazing the difference it makes in your photo! I can't believe how much where you live looks like Texas. . .on the other side of the world. It makes the world seem like such a smaller place.
I'd love to live in a place like that, with the land and lots of space between neighbors. I love road pictures.

. CONTRASTS .by rozComment by RobMcGee: nice composition, that feather couldn't be sharp enough (sharp feather, soft fence... catch my drift?) :-) |

DAY 4 .where i live . sashy .by rozComment by Bruce_the_Robert: I really like the desat here, too; did you do this "by hand"? I'm still learning selective desat, and I find it takes me forever, and I probably wouldn't have done the leaves for just that reason (though, IMHO, it makes the image really stand out). I'm actually glad you kept the full height of the image; to my eyes, there's a different feel in each vertical third of the photo which is very pleasing to me. |

DAY 3.6 . where i live . thanx !! .by rozComment by Bruce_the_Robert: My daughter's only 20 months, but I hope when she has a boyfriend, he's helpful like Matt -- though I've told my wife our daughter isn't allowed to date until she's 30 ;)
As for making pics look nice, that's not always necessary; do you like your surroundings? Try to convey why to us, even if it's not "nice" in some traditional/narrow notion (though I won't encourage you to submit such shots to challenges, as that sort of thinking seems to be punished here). |

DAY 3 . where i live . & dog .by rozComment by Bruce_the_Robert: Nice shot, looks like a cool dog ("oh, alright, I'll post again; geez, it's tough being beautiful"); I like the shallow DoF, too, and the nice earth tones in the ground (guess that's why they call them earth tones). |

DAY 2.6 . where i live . ant on wire .by rozComment by Bruce_the_Robert: I like the color shots better, too, I think, though I'm a big B&W fan. The post here on the left breaks up the image for me; the fence sort of leads to it, but it's more of a distraction for me than an attaction. But like JD said, that's just my opinion! |
