exitby rozComment by Charlene: Great catch of the reflection. I like the graininess here. Gives me the feeling of passing time. |

shadowsby rozComment by shamer: Originally posted by shamer: awesome find (or idea?) but horrible bokeh! The far back has great color, but the near background is unpleasing... |
Boy, I sorta sound like a jerk there - ha ha! I really dug those background colors & the shadow, but for whatever reason, my eye was fixated on those red highlights & box-blur nature of the bokeh here. Hey, I still voted a 5 on it (better than a lot in this challenge - let's just say I generously used both ends of the voting spectrum...). I think all those little bits made the image a little too busy for me - this would be an excellent candidate for selectively softening while adding heavy doses of dodging/burning to get the composition down to it's core imagery. |

reflection in a cafe door by rozComment by shamer: Roz, this is really neat to look at - I dig the storytelling going on here. I think it could use a little vignette or vignette + blur vignette, though - help the eye settle on the subject, you know? Sorry, the critic in me just can't shush sometimes...
Oh, BTW, thanks for the barrage of flattering commentary on my recent run of good luck! :~) |

pure honey production lineby rozComment by Natasha: Sorry I haven't commented yet-long workyday.....
Here are the things I like about this:
The focus is great-sharp on the bee and beautifully blurred on the background, the bees on the inside are in focus enough, it takes a few seconds to noice them but when you do it's a nice surprise....I love the composotion of the cornered flower..
Now a bit nit-picky, but the shape of the flower is not so pleasing! WHY? well i feel that the curling in look of it makes me feel that it is not that fresh, even tho the bees and the colours of the leave certainly say different....
I also feel that the challenge meaning is a bit too implied by the title, it does of course include transition but I am not sure that it is obvious enough?
I think it is a great picture and very well taken and original in the fact that you don't often see so many bees in one flower....that's so cool.
Just a few ideas....see what the others think:) |

exitby rozComment by pawdrix: This is a cool shot. I love the processing choices you made here. I the relm of candids I prefer to see some sort of expression which isn't present here. Nice shot otherwise. |

exitby rozComment by Melethia: Very much like this - the mystery of the part of the face and the grain work for me. Very nicely composed. |
