Pls,pls can you explain how you got the BG? I have some cicada exoskelletons on a tree and wanted to take "exactly" this shot, but don't seem to get it right ... Of course it would have been great to get the animal emerging the "old" body, but that happened during the night I guess. |
hey Gaby .. i'll answer you here in case anyone is interested ..
for starters here is the original photo ..
i'm not sure what you mean about the background .. but if you mean about the blur then its all about the aperture .. and how close you are to the insect and how close it is to the background .. if that makes sense ..
i feel a bit weird telling you this as you are an amazing photographer ... and probably know what i'm telling you anyway ..
if you wanted to know about the other stuff .. like the colours etc ..
looking at my working tif file i can see that i did a sunlight action in Nik color efex ..
to get the warmer colours i used an overlay that i can share with you if you want it ..
i used the gradient tool in different colours to get the light top rhs .. and did a brightness and contrast adjustment layer to give it a boost ..

..... and a photobomber!by rozComment by streetpigeon: Lovely curves, a fiesta primed for St. Patrick's Day. A photobomber? More like a scene-stealer. The fly's eyes nicely echo the leaves. Is such beauty transitory, or rather a matter of attention? Stellar response to the challenge. |

..... and a photobomber!by rozComment by Neat: Just coming back to comment on a few images after voting already. I see curved wings, legs and foliage, what a sweet little image. |
