Very different kind of effect, which works really well. Can imagine it as a print. I have the Nikon 18-200mm (or should that be had, as I dropped it and it's going to cost more to repair than replace!) and it is my all time fave lens. Sure it's not in the same league quality wise as the 17-55, but boy is it handy never having to change lenses! Go for it Roz, you'll love it.

Nice post processing! I was thinking of getting the 18-200 as well. I have an 18-55 and a 55-200 and its a pain to change them out all the time.
