In and Around Balboa Park Week 10 - Macroby AnnComment by kasaba: I love macro and this is a beautiful shot. I suppose you "could" crop in as MattO suggested, but I quite like to see the "whole picture". I must say, I am impressed that you can hand hold the macro shot. I have tried often, but have given up on that now.

In and Around Balboa Park Week 10 - Macroby AnnComment by Ann: Originally posted by MattO: I like the colors, and the focus with attention to details. I've seen extreme crops from these cameras and I'd dare to bet you could crop way in on those stamen! |
Yes, I'm sure I could. This was essentially the full frame, and the stamen were quite sharp. The flower, including petals was about 1 cm across. |

In and Around Balboa Park Week 9 - Valentineby AnnComment by Kroburg: A Dutch stand-up comedian once said: the sad thing about buying flowers, is that you buy something that is already dying. I completely agree with him, hence I'll never buy flowers for my dear wife (but I cook her great diners). But I have to admit, these roses looks great and I think you did a great job in PP. Love the crisp two roses and leaves and stems blurry. Very interesting technique to use two different presets and blend them together. Must try that one myself once. Thanks for sharing. |
