Some skew to the chessboard that you might not have been able to fix without making the doorway off skew instead. The edges of the pieces in front of the door seem overly harsh.

The position of the sign seems wrong. If we're meant to read it I'd have chosen a different camera angle. If we're meant to admire the nice curve of the shore line I'd have positioned myself so that the sign isn't right in the middle.

the white spaces on the board are not very white and the left side of the background is blown out. the right side of the background has that dark vertical line distracting from the rest of the photo. i also would have had the pieces set up in which they would illustrate the title better such as having the white king in jeopardy.
