Normally I would tell why I'm handing out a low score. Here I think you'll know for yourself the multiple reasons. I would almost believe this is a deliberate run for the brown.

I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.

Positives: Great juxtaposition of the natural and the man-made. I really like the muted colour palette too. Also the sense of coldness is quite pronounced.


Critical stuff: The binoculars look ever so slightly haloed and the blown highlight in the gap in the clouds is a little distracting, mainly because of its proximity to the gull.

Overall: A very enjoyable image which manages to transport the viewer.

the picture seems to be a bit out of focus and the seem on the background is a little distracting in my opinion
