Great idea, although the colors seem a bit washed out in this photo. Also it may have benfited from a closer crop showing just the hands, arms, hammer, and anvil.

I think a sepia tone would have added more impact, and maybe a tighter crop on the person too, but thats just my taste :)

I think there is nothing wrong with your subject, in fact it's pretty interesting to see fashion from other eras. My feeling is this would have been a much more effective photo if the background matched the subject a little more. For example, if she were standing in front of a house or building from the era, or if the background were completely neutral, like a field, it would add much more feeling to the picture.

Nice picture. Well exposed. What I am drawn to is the repetition on the shape of her skirt with the flower bed behind her. I apologize, but I find it amusing. There might have been a better spot within the area to set up the shot, like the porch?
