Very nice scene. It really does give you a feel of the beauty and innocence of childhood. I gave it a 7.

Comment by Kha0S:
Soft focus gives this a sort of dreamlike feel, and the use of shadow on the right side of the shot helps to complete a frame with the treeline in the background and the branches to the left. The composition seems crowded, and slightly imbalanced with the bench where it is. Also, without a bottom edge to your natural framing, it seems somewhat topheavy. Croppign it tighter on the bottom might alleviate that, but you run the risk of getting to close to the girl's shadow.

A couple of things I think you really did very well here is the exposure is excellent with the backlighting. Don't know if you used fill lighting or some kind of reflection, but the girl's faces are clearly visible and not dark at all. Secondly, I like the way the dark bushes frame the photo and give the scene a kind of private look so that the view here is almost as if we're spying on the girl's private moment of prancing and playing about. What makes this picture for me is the way the light shines through the dress of the girl nearest to the cam. The grass seems oddly too yellowish/green, but still not a big deal and like the effect of it's bright luminance. I think the scene lacks is some other main element, such as a fountain or gazebo to unite the girls in some kind of activity, because as it is now, they are to disconnected. 7

My son, when he was quite young, while watching his little sister and cousins playing turned to me and blew me away when he said, "Pretty girls on a sunny day dad. Nice huh?"
Your picture snapped me back to that moment. THIS is what he meant with that comment. You've captured the playful, magical energy of youth here...and..you dusted off an old memory...thanks.

Love the dress, love the light. love the movement. But the trees closer than the girl on either side kinda makes it feel like you're hiding and watching her, which is kinda creepy.

I'm sure you're not, that's just how the pic made me feel.
