I think this is a seriously underrated shot. In fact, I find it the most artistic of any of your photos. The lighting is superb, and it is obvious you had a concept in mind, which you managed to execute quite well.

I see from your comments that you cropped slightly. I would be very interested to see the original, as I think the photo could benefit from more negative space on the right side.

When I first saw this picture, I thought it was Virgin Mary holding little baby Jesus. Oh well. I like your interpretation. Wondeful lines and colors. Good focus. But really it is the two purple lines that really work for me.

those extra lines that Jeff mentioned were the difference between a 7 and a 9 in my score. they give your photo a beautiful abstract composition of lines... where did I hear that before?

IMHO there is just far too much noise and too many blown highlights in this one.

Agin IMHO it doesn't appear that there has been any consideration for the composition of this, with the edges of the plate out of frame and the distracing background to the left and top of the frame.

I really like the placement of the parrot in the frame and the interesting shapes of the various leaves. Backlit action shots are pretty tough, though. As for the border, I thought it was the wall around a window! :)

Beautiful find and nicely shot! I'm of two minds about the extra stems. Part of me wants them cloned out to make the subject flowers stand out. But part of me wants to leave them in to make this a found scene within a natural setting, which is more interesting.
