This was my high scorer for the grey challenge - very interesting comp and catch. I like your crop - I guess the only thing I wonder, as far as DPC values go, is whether the blue sky could have been brought out in a way that would contrast the birds more. Great shapes and expressions - I think there must be an ancient Asian fairy tale about this picture somewhere. Sorry about the undeserved score.

5 - Good capture. That's quite a gift. The recipient even looks taken aback by the generosity. 'If only' a little sharper and, wonder about a variation in crop, not just for this Challenge (to allow the grey to dominate more), but also to allow this to pack more punch (eg: maybe a little more off the bottom, who knows).

This very much reminds me of Bear's marshes - now I know why! Lovely work with the processing, but a very gorgeous shot to begin with as well. I really like how the tree, even though no longer living, still serves a very useful purpose, and I like the warmth of this - a picture of a dead tree but full of life!
