Over the Royal Staircaseby ChiquiComment by srbrubaker: I like the shot very much. I like the warmth of the light and the warmth of the color in the walls. The building is a gem. And the photo is perfectly exposed. The strong perspective produced by a short focal length is fine with me.
Centering did not bother me when I first looked at the shot, and after looking at the shot carefully I have to ask whether the windows on the left and right sides of the building are perfect mirror images of each other, for the placement of the camera by every other measure I can find appears to be in the center of the space. |

Word Processorby ChiquiComment by srbrubaker: Echoes of Thackery via Barry Lyndon? The candllight evokes that movie. This creates an certain irony since Kubrick bought a special satellite lens from NASA to do the candelit shots... But we have veered way far off course.
I like this shot very much. I wonder whether you considered trying to fool us into thinking that all the light came from the candle. While I expect that the shot would be impossible to execute if this were actually the case, I find the artificial light with its stronger white and colder spectrum to break the magic spell set by the candle, pen, and paper. I like the fact that we see the pen, but the lone bit of finger seems cut at an awkward place.
This is a good shot and its good to see it finished well. |

Yours Trulyby ChiquiComment by fotodude: there is some grayscale missing in this shot that should probibly be there.....the reason is there is quit a gap that is visualy lacking between the black of the hair and neckless and the white of the skin.
it is an image i look at but am not drawn into......
hence the vote.....5
great image just to have an effictive B&W espicaly in this way u need as much of the grayscale as possible.......please don't hate me...lol i hate to be 1 of "those voters" |
