Give me wings and I will fly... by faeryComment by timfythetoo: Wasnt planning on commenting tonight but I felt compelled to with this one. I really REALLY like this. By farthe best image in the challenge IMO. Such a great natural pose/capture, excellent b&w editing and wonderful composition. On top of that it just makes me feel good. Bumping up to a 10 from my first go aroun dof 8 and adding to my faves. Good luck with this one! |

Driftwoodby faeryComment by magnus: An intriguing idea, but I think I'd like it better if the skin were sharper, so the texture really stood out. |

Driftwoodby faeryComment by HawesPhotoKC: I'm a little confused about the driftwood. Regardless I would like to see the subject in sharp focus. |

Tributeby faeryComment by Kavey: I have searched through the challenge for those entries where the negative space is more than just a plain black or white backdrop because, whilst I think that technique often makes for some really strong and high impact images, I̢۪m particularly drawn to entries where the negative space is relevant to the subject itself and actually contributes to the impact of the picture in a contextual as well as purely compositional way.
Lovely little detail portrait which is actually rather poignant. The simple, wall and floorboards are a really nice and homely setting for the ballet slippers. I’m not a smoothness freak at all – I actually like noise – but it seems rather excessive here. Also lighting is a little too uneven left to right, I find. |
