There is a lack of detail in the trees and sky.
Also it would have been good to rotate it a bit to the left.
The tree is also a bit distracting, it is in the way :)
I like the framing.

Firstly, I think that this is a great shot, many people obviously liked it but felt that it didn't meet the challenge, I would have to agree here. Composition is good, I like the cornered composition, I would agree that having the end of the bottom stamen would have been good. Sharpness is good, showing the texture of the petals very well and the shallow DOF helps the flower stand out well.
This is a great shot and in the appropraite challenge I think it would have done much better. Good Luck in the next challenge.

Very pretty picture. Is that a patch of sky above the fully displayed petal? That was sarcastic, sorry, but this picture is all about the flower. I know it takes weather to grow a flower, but it takes dirt, water, seeds and a whole lots of other things, too. While this is an exceptionally pretty picture, I can't give the higher end score due to the challenge. Very nice texture and detail. 5 Rob the Swash
