Waiting for the Mealby JeileenComment by Gracious: Critique Club Comments by Grayce
I love the simplicity of this image. Nice layout, good background too.
The depth of field is good with nice even focus. The background though a good choice should be wrinkle free. I've made the same mistake!!!
Perhaps a little more light would be good.
OVerall I like it, but it needs more attention to detail.
Regards,

Workings Of ...by JeileenComment by p_johns: Nice shot, but its a pity I don't know what this is a part of. If I knew that it was a bridge or an overpass it may have appealed more. |

Nautical Parkingby JeileenComment by Lustre: I like the composition, although the bottom right corner would have looked nicer if it was a bit cleaner (which may or may not have been an option you had control over.
I can see a bit of noise in this image, particularly in the sky. Is it a long exposure, or perhaps a high ISO. I think you should see if you can reduce the noise using a filter effect.
The colours on the post and rope are quite interesting - it's a shame it wasn't a bright sunny day though, the background isn't terribly exciting on a cloudy day. Having said that, it does work well to bring attention to the post and rope - they are certainly the focal point. |

Coming Inby JeileenComment by Lustre: I like the silohuette effect of this photo. The composition is quite good, although the water skier in the background is a little distracting because they are so hidden in the darkness.
The edges of the silohuettes look a little soft / blurry, although nothing major. Since there is so much contrast it's possibly something that could be sharpened up with damaging the waves, but I'm no expert in this area.
I see humour in this shot - it's almost like the pelican is driving the jet ski. I assume this is what you mean by the title. |

Saturday Night - Going Downtownby JeileenComment by Lustre: I love the colours - the blue in the background and the orange in the foreground. They are so vivid and strong.
Personally, I might have included a little more of the foreground in the shot - probably just by tilting the camera down slightly. I might have also tried framing the shot with the fence posts in shot but the gate out of shot to see how it looked.
I like the aspect ratio - I'm a sucker for a nice panoramic at the best of times.
Finally the focus is pretty good but some of the foreground is slightly blurred. Did you use infinity focus? Did you use a tripod? I suspect yes, but if not that they might help you. |

Choicesby JeileenComment by Lustre: Hi - you asked for some critiqing of your photo's... Unfortunately the first thing that grabbed my attention is the border. It's perhaps a little too bright, and maybe a fine black line between it and the image would help.
There is a lot of noise in the background. I suspect you didn't really have enough light for this. You could try noise reduction in photoshop, or similar, but I would aim for more light if possible. I've used very bright lights and held lace up around the object to create a soft even light cheaply. |
