I see redby
Dim7Comment by dsidwell: Greetings from the Critique Club!
I concur with all of the compliments below! This is a fine image that uses color well, so meets the challenge well.
I enjoy how the red stands out among all of the neutrals and grays here. You also have the fence and its shadows that act like leading lines to the barn.
This is an engaging photo with lots of tones and textures to look at. Folks below have mentioned the perspective or point of view, and I think that the fence works well as a vehicle to lead our eye to the barn. On the other hand, the fence is so interesting it kind of pulls focus, despite the redness of the barn's roof. The fence also adds a sense of mystery and awe to the image that I wish the barn added as well.
To pull focus off of the fence while retaining its wonderful qualities, it may be possible to step just a foot or two to the right and still get those interesting lines and depth of field, but the lines would lead toward the center of the photo rather than to the side. Also, coming at a time of day when there is more intersting light might enhance the interest of the barn roof, giving it a sense of "mystery" that the fence currently has.
You may want to push the saturation levels ever so slightly in post processing as well.
In sum: I like this photo a lot. You have certainly communicated color, and the great things about this photo could be made even better, perhaps, with more interesting light and a slightly different point of view.
I look forward to seeing your good work in the future!
Thanks,
David
