Greets from the Critique Club!
Initial Impression:
Bad light, a bit of a snapshot feel, but great emotion and novel take on the theme.
Challenge:
I think this meets the challenge well, in an original but still fairly obvious way.
Composition:
I think this shot works well centered, though the biggest difference would be made by getting down on the dogs level and shooting from there. Eye contact is very important with animal shots and it's hard to get that contact from above the animal! Don't be afraid to get down in the mud with her!
Technical:
A bit more contrast added in post processing would have cleaned this shot up and made it more interesting visually.
Overall:
Great idea and humor, good but not great photo. I really liked this shot in the challenge and I scored it rather high just because it was a fun picture. A bit more creativity with the angle would have netted you a higher finish for sure!

nice one. . . try and get in the habit tho of putting your main subject off center (rule of thirds). it really does strengthen shots. |

Cropping this a wee bit tighter would of helped.. |

Maybe a little off topic, but I've voted on too many photos to care anymore. Good Shot. The water drops came out clear. I would have added a simple boarder to this one. |

great title, good clarity and expression of subject, may have cropped top slightly but can see leaving it in for droplets |

very cool. how many times did you make him do this? ;-)
instead of being frozen, i wonder how a slower ISO/longer shutter speed would have come out (some blur, the water in streaks). but that said, i still like this shot. |

A fun shot. A little tighter crop might have helped keep the focus on the dog, as it is just a bit too much muddy water. |

great shot, though I suspect the beach is why he's wet and not the rain! :) Super lighting though..if you had moved a bit to the right and gotten rid of most of the shadow by hiding it behind the dog, that might have really worked too! |

Ahhhhh well put and it's got to be my favorite. |

Fun ironic title. The dog's expression is great. |

good job, but i don't think the focal point should be on the dog drying off....it doesn't seem to relate with the challenge besides the fact that the dog is wet.. |

Great title -- awesome timing! A clever twist on the challenge! |

Good title, very original. The focus is good here, the only thing I would have changed is having your dog not so centrally positioned. It gives the image more of a snapshot feel to it. |

my dog does stuff like this, is this before or after he rolled in a dead fish? |

Good catch. A lower viewpoint would make the dog stand out against the sky. |

Nice play on the challenge. Good job at stopping the action and catching the water splash. Good focus and lighting. |

Cute. Real cute. You also managed to keep the face in focus. Nice job. Did you need to clean the lense after the shot?! |

This is a very good photograph. Just look at the expression on the face! It's the most creative of the bunch. I give it an 8. |

Make me chuckle - nice take on a very common weather report phrase. 7, including a bonus for a clever idea. |

I love this shot!! Good take on the challenge. He appears to have been very satisfied with his/her swim. |

Hey I got the same idea, but no pet.. :) Well for me I would angle the shot lower so that the water drops is set to the background and not in the puddle of water. This makes the drops less clear. :) |
