Windowby jackal9Comment by Haneck: Clever! I like the unique perspective you chose. The sill of the window is not something you would ordinarily pay attention to, making this an interesting shot. |

All the Kings Menby jackal9Comment by Haneck: I've seen lots of chess piece pictures, but THIS is neat. The subtle lighting and the green glow adds a very interesting, almost menacing atmosphere. I love it! The tones are wonderful, and the grain is also kind of neat, though it might be cool to see it without the grain to... Was it added? EXCELLENT shot! :) |

Springby jackal9Comment by Haneck: I love how smooth sky, in contrast to the high-ly textured branches. The colors a fabulous! Lovely shot. |

That Old Time Religionby jackal9Comment by Tez: a nice pic but a little... erm... overdone? I cant think of the word but im trying to be polite and I think ive seen this pic in various guises many times before.
Having said that, the levels adjustment is perfect as you can see every slate on that roof. I would have made the JESUS bit lighter though on the right or maybe taken the shot from there looking at the roof or something. |

All the Kings Menby jackal9Comment by noraneko: Jackal, there are some real strengths in this photo - I remember thinking the luminosity of those chess pieces had a lot of potential when I voted on it. The DOF is great, as are the lines. What I think would be very cool would be to shoot this on a light table (just some lights under a piece of glass supported by a pair of sawhorses would work fine) so that the light is absorbed up through these beautiful pieces. Of course, that might not work with the chess board - don't know what it is made of. |
