Beach Fenceby xtianComment by glad2badad: I'm a sucker for beach fence photos. :) Personally, I like this. The fence is probably more technically considered a leading line, but eh, I'm not sweating it. Did you fret about the lamp post at the end? Oops! Almost wondered whether you considered cloning it out, but this challenge is running under basic rules...nevermind. :P Actually, the lamp post, for me, works as a stop point. Helps keep me within the image. The sepia tone works well for the mood and emotive feel of a lonely beach on a cloudy day.
Best of luck to you in the challenge. |

Deep Purple Lullabiesby xtianComment by ericwoo: Hey there from the Critique Club
Camera Work/Technical: With the post-processing you chose, this one is almost impossible to offer any technical critique advice on. However, your base image does appear to be very crisp and well captured.
Lighting: Very interesting effect that you chose. It plays nicely with the title you chose, and the voters seemed to agree.
Composition/Content: Great font and very nice composition. Your chosen elements allow the eye to flow through the frame nicely.
My Opinion: Nice idea that was well-executed. Congrats on very nice, well-deserved score.
Thank you for the opportunity to provide a critique on your entry,
Eric

Deep Purple Lullabiesby xtianComment by posthumous: All the best lullabies are purple... deep purple... they fade into sunsets and shimmer on dark water. Purple is the last color to fade into darkness, and some think it never completely disappears. These are the lullabies and children's songs of Billie Holiday, recordings that no one even knew existed until they were found at Antiques Roadshow Louisianna. Buy them for your children, play them for yourself when the midnight hour comes scratching at your eyelids...

Vineyard Bikingby xtianComment by Germaine: Lovely capture -- great colors and mood. My only suggestion would be some cropping along the top. IMNSHO, the shot is a little tall for our monitors -- I had to scroll to see the whole thing. Cropping along the top would help, and it would also get rid of that dark "thing" (power line?) along the top. Those converging diagonals with the kid on the bike are super. |
