I was noticing the lack of comments, then I noticed you didn't even comment yourself.:) The lone commenter said the color and contrast were the problem. I think it is the light. The foreground has no interesting light on it. With advanced editing, you might be able to do something about that. You have a beautiful scene and composition to work with.

your title leads me to imagine that this is an abandoned prison, and the people walking by are a family whose elder generations and ancestors were sometimes imprisoned there, probably unfairly. They walk casually past it, but all have a secret terror of it, even in its ghostly state. 7
