Pea-Can Pieby deputydogComment by jfriesen: Hi from the Critique Club!
I think this photo was a good idea but I think the execution could use a little work.
First, I think this photo is pulled down with all the dark and drab colors in the background. Nothing really pops in my opinion. The image seems too busy and my eyes just go all over the place, only to lead back to the piles of peas depicted on the can.
Second, the use of your elements along with someone else's picture on the can is sort-of making this image fall short of the mark. The angle is unimaginative.
The focus is really sharp though. With a little more work you could have a really great image.
That's just my two cents.

Burning the Candle at Both Endsby deputydogComment by MattO: Greetings from the critique club. After viewing your photo I have a few suggestions. First I think the concept is very nice. The simplicity of the shot and the relavence to the challenge are perfect. I'm not sure you put it all together as well as it could have been and I would like to suggest a few things. One thing to consider when using mirrors is the angle at which you shoot. The reflected candle looks a wee bit crooked. I'd also suggest that instead of using a black background that you light the room your in with a colored bulb perhaps light blue to give it a better background rather then all the negative space. Your exposure is pretty nice and its well focused. Good luck in future challenges. |

Bad Daddyby deputydogComment by talj: Lovely fun image but looks a little more out of focus than soft focus IMHO |

Bad Daddyby deputydogComment by GoodEnd: There is no soft focus here. Soft focus has a misty character with the edges softened and bright areas turned like fog. It results of light difusion before the lens. |
