A bit hard to make out the rest of the photo other than the face. The photo feels too intimate to be a true candid, it feels more like a portrait. The lighting doesn't quite work for me, I would have prefered it if you'd managed to get the light on just part of his face. The knee seems to be the sharpest part of the photo, it really needs to be the eyes. Perhaps you could have cropped it to avoid the blown highlights.

It seems unbalanced to me. I know that it is intended, but it still takes away from the enjoyment of the photo for me.
