sit-orange-hat-8198.jpgby bergiekatComment by kawesttex: Good capture of someone just killing time before the parade. Do you have more room on the left to have her looking more into the frame. This seems just a bit tight. |

Moustache-8120.jpgby bergiekatComment by kawesttex: Good capture of the handlebar. Your shallow DOF definitely kept all the garbage from behind unrecognizeable. Makes it hard to see that you shot this on a crowded busy street. Went back on the following weekend and it was strong sunshine and hard to shoot. Cold, foggy, damp, cloudy weather does have it's advantages sometimes. |

into-the-bog.jpgby bergiekatComment by kawesttex: The way the water and the sky (read fog) blend it looks like the trees are floating. I like the way it fades back into the fog. |

'Gator Groundsby bergiekatComment by kawesttex: Shallow DOF works really well here to keep the tree separated from the water and softens the tree reflections behind main tree. |

badlands3.jpgby bergiekatComment by AP: kat, I agree with Jeff and think this photo could be improved with higher contrast in the mountain itself. The sky looks great, but the ground looks subdued compared to it. I am by no means and implying that I did it the 'right' way or anything like that, but after I visited the badlands I felt like my images lacked a 'punch', so I did some selective dodging and burning (and added some lightness/darkness layers) to accentuate their visual interest. I hope it won't offend you to link to my pic, which I am only posting as an example of what might be possible, nothing more. Wasn't this place a complete trip to visit? What a bizarre landscape! |
