Comment by Gauti:
interesting. I think many ppl will vote this down b/c of flare and CA and other technical pet peeves. Some might vote it up b/c of the wind-blown snow.
My first reaction was: ouch, the sun is killing this photo. the windblown snow doesn't do a thing to me, see it all the time and much more than this. But after looking for a while it kinda appeals to me. Warts 'n all. I wouldn't print it out and hang it on my wall however. score? hmmm, problem. well I have a scale of 1-10 and I most often vote 4-5 but I'll give you a 7, no a 8 because I'm in a xmas mood and you will probably appreciate it. Don't PM me, if you want further feedback, post in the forums tomorrow. Merry christmas. cheers & good luck

Comment by Neil:
The rays are cool, but the flare is distracting from the real subject--wind. Especially where the flare is very purple by the snow.

IMHO I think the sun shouldn't be in this photo. It might have scored higher to show only the mountains and snow blow...

cool shot, but whoa sun! do u have a lens hood, and also maybe pan a bit the right, i dont think u need that much, if any sun in your frame. It could also make the exposure on the wind blown snow more accurate without such harsh ligth.

Ah, if only you did not get this much sun in the frame... I guess cropping was impossible as you've already got all the rays in. This could have been a winner this week. As is, only a 5.

Man - this could've been a really great shot. To me, the sun and its rays not only add nothing, they take almost everything away from snow dust blowing off the ridges. Plus it seems quite out of focus. :-(
