Tribute to Vincentby purpleflutterby13Comment by sherpet: What a wonderful tribute to Vincent Van Gogh, who is one of my favorite painters. This definately has a painterly feel to it, and love the composition.
The perspestive is spot on, and really leads one right into the image.....
The bright colored leaves on those trees are a pleasing colorful elemtnt to this image..... |

Live. Laugh. Scream for freedom.by purpleflutterby13Comment by downtherabbithole: I like your idea, and I think your title takes it up a notch, but I think I lose it with the hands, that just seem weird and the lack of light in her eyes. turn her body a little more towards that sunset and things would look a lot better. we have that highlight coming down here arm and across the side of her face but there is no light on her front, it's all on her back |

Footsteps on the beachby purpleflutterby13Comment by meyers: The curve of the sand, traced by the path of the footsteps, enhances the depth captured in this shot. My eyes are led from the forground to the distant beach, guided slightly by the mountains in the background. There's an overall darkness though, maybe alluding to the loss of someone leaving?
The horizon splitting the image in half doesn't detract from the composition here; it wouldn't have the same effect if the horizon was on one of the rule-of-third lines. |
