I like the almost mimicked repetition between the side of the frame. It reminds me of looking up at the windows of a glass building and seeing the reflections distorted.

I wonder what it would be like at a greater proximity or cropped to leave nothing but the wide foreground with the two solitudes in the third...
The balconies and sky are, in my view, redundant to the story told here. I'd rather ponder the humanity against the stony evidence of centuries.

It's not that I seek to find fault in such a moving image. It's just that I'm awake now, after having looked, with a heightened sense of it. :-)

Italy...reminds of Greece too. Many neoclassical buildings, still beautiful, but worn and abandoned like many of their inhabitants. Really like this.

As a close view - the rail has the feel of a rack or bin filled with discarded paper. Grain appears to be evident, and provides an extra dimension of texture to this excellent, nicely composed urban detail.
