I love the expansiveness of this one. The smallness of the two against the largeness of the structure seems to say something - though not of their insignificance, but perhaps just the opposite. I can almost see cropping to keep just the wall and its height, but you'd lose the hearts on the balcony, which seem somewhat relevant to this. An excellent capture and in my mind can be nothing other than B&W.

the tones and comp are much better than in the other one imo.
this one is about the two people and their interaction.
also love the vertical arrangement and negative space at the top. really great one!

I think I agree with the Zeus, although this is a great find and I appreciate the tall expanse. Beautiful tale.

I think both version are wonderful. I prefer this one still, with just the two of them. And the crack in the wall leads your eye from the person on the right to left. I liked the inclusion of the balconies, it adds to the two theme for me.

This is so good, especially the women's folded hands... all the broken stone forms...
I wonder what it would be like at a greater proximity or cropped to leave nothing but the wide foreground with the two solitudes in the third...
The balconies and sky are, in my view, redundant to the story told here. I'd rather ponder the humanity against the stony evidence of centuries.

It's not that I seek to find fault in such a moving image. It's just that I'm awake now, after having looked, with a heightened sense of it. :-)

Italy...reminds of Greece too. Many neoclassical buildings, still beautiful, but worn and abandoned like many of their inhabitants. Really like this.

I like the feel of this - the minimalist sense to the image.
