Your technique gives it, oddly, a photorealism painting technique look - I rather like this, but agree with you that it's dubiously "impressionistic" (although I don't think it's a shoehorn). However I had given it an 8, since I think it's a nicely done image. Bland isn't always bad - this is nice study of light.

nice mountain view, looks very nice with all the low clouds/mist in the valleys unfortunately I can see a lot of DNMC's but I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt and letting my imagination run with it :) nice shot.

It's funny to say this but it actually makes me a bit seasick to look at it - not saying that's a bad thing, by the way. All by way of saying that I like how the sloping line of trees and further slope of the mountain run counter to each other and introduce a nice energy to what would ordinarily be a static landscape shot. Fantastic as b&w.

Did you really see the candy challenge and think to go take this? Or did you happen to shoot a mountain lanscape, and then try to squeeze it into the challenge? Although it is a very nice shot, I won't vote on it because I think it doesn't belongs in this challenge.
