For me who adores trees, branches, leaves and everything in between, this image is less interesting because as you said, it reminds too much of a different technique away form a true photograph. I struggle also with the endless ways that we can play with an image and, more than you, I go sometimes overboard. Nevertheless, I would not be in favor of going back to the dark room!

It makes me so claustrophobic. I used to love driving at night, especially out in the country. Now I can't see as well and I'm afraid of drunk drivers. The perils of aging.
