something...?by nixterComment by CNovack: The letter overlay makes me think we are seeing what this man is 'reliving' in his mind's eye. That focused and disturbed expression makes me think that whatever he read in that letter shook the very foundations of his world. He is in a state of shock; replaying in his head over and over again as he walks aimlessly in a daze. Great overlay for (to me) it told a story. |

a chorus lineby nixterComment by Jutilda: You are just blowing me away. There is just something about it. Like a frame from an old movie. Love the blue. Love the scratches! Terrific in BW. |

feeling for inspirationby nixterComment by tome: I'm staring at this for a long time, amazing! I love the crease in the middle... like a photo you keep in your wallet for years. A collection of memories. Fantastic, nick! |

feeling for inspirationby nixterComment by ursula: One of the best so far in this SC. I think this kind of thing is where textures come to life, where they really flourish so to say. When you have a picture (or pictures) that [possibly] by themselves would not work, but combined, or combined and textured, they come to life and have a story, visual interest, beauty. This is where textures really work.
Although, from my "uppity 1X POV", the birds are kitsch! I hope nobody gets offended by that statement. It comes from hearing over and over, "NOOOOOOO!!!!! Not birds, again!" Anyway. I mean the flying birds, not those on the line.
Also, I wonder if you tried cloning out (or somehow altering) the bottom left hand corner. That dark triangle there calls for a lot of attention, and I'm not sure it benefits the photo to call attention to that corner. Maybe you're the kind who wouldn't clone out something like this, but I would try it. But it's not my photo :) Message edited by author 2010-11-06 12:49:07. |
