Newtby aliquiComment by dahlin: I like that it isn't in focus as well. I think it brings some nice mystery to the image in addition to the black and white. |

Newtby aliquiComment by Adz: I'm glad it isn't any sharper, leaves enough so you know what it is, but enough so you have to think about the rest. |

Newtby aliquiComment by daisydavid: It does look like an ultrasound photo of a newt wearing a beret, lovely soft feel about it. I wouldn't change it at all. |

Newtby aliquiComment by GregoryB: Great POV. He really is a shy little critter. Terrific deception created with the B&W conversion. |

Artisanby aliquiComment by giantmike: That looks like it will be good. I'm not sure about the black and white here. I really find myself wanting to see this in color. |

Artisanby aliquiComment by Paul: I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives: This is a grower! Bumped it a couple of times now. The 'through mesh' appearance is effective and gives a slightly furtive look that I am always fond of. Despite the low contrast, I like how the crusty texture of the bread is still well communicated. I also like the restraint in relation to the light here. I'm a fan of the vignette too.
Critical stuff: I think there is only so far you can go with an image like this - in the end, you can only wring out some much interest.
Overall: A shot that I have come to like after a few viewings - perhaps a problem when there are as many images as there are in a FS to get through. |

Newtby aliquiComment by idp: That's very pretty - and the lack of sharpness suits the image. The mono conversion works well on this one. |
