First Impression - the most important one:
Wow what a cool flower!! Lovely colours and background! The flower is a bit flat needs a bit more punch.
Composition:
I like how you have positioned the flower in the frame.
Subject:
You have definitely chosen an interesting subject. I like it and think it works well for the challenge.
Technical (Colour, focus, and light):
Here is where this picture has the greatest room for improvement. Your lighting is nice, perhaps a stronger light on one side to create stronger shadows. In post processing you really needed to pump up the yellows. Maybe adjusted the curves and what not to make the flower jump of the page/screen. I personally, would have liked to see the whole flower in focus, most of it is but there are parts that are not. It isn't a big deal but could add to the picture.
To grow its vote?:
I think the best thing to grow your votes on this picture, would have been pump up those yellows! a bit more Post processing would have gone a long way.
Summary:
Good picture, great flower, but as always room for improvement. I really like it all the same!
Hey at least this one was above your average! You are really taking a lot of flower pictures; I think my favorite is either this one or enchanted satin!
