Gotcha by william88Comment by william88: Originally posted by Ann: Originally posted by hahn23: 1/125s according to the image data. I assume that is a data entry error, right? If so, then big congratulations on the Blue ribbon. |
He used flashes. There's no way possible to freeze the action like this with shutter speed alone.
William, fantastic! I didn't vote, but you'd get a 10 from me. |
You are right! Hummingbird's wings are way too fast to be stopped motion by shutter. You will see some motion blur even with 1/1000 shutter speed. |

Gotcha by william88Comment by vawendy: So beautifully done!! I can't believe you're able to stop motion with 1/125. That even blurs seagulls. Are you using flash to stop it?
(Ooops, just read the other comments. :) |

Snow Lake reflection (w/IR)by william88Comment by Revecca: Breathtaking! I wish some of the colors in the reflection didn't look so washed out. I enjoy the red-ish area to the front of the image and think your framing compliments the image. |

Gotcha by william88Comment by NiallOTuama: How anybody could give this less than 6 is beyond me. It's a spectacular image. Huge congratulations on the capture and result.
Magnificent. Didn't vote in this challenge, but it would have gotten 9 or 10 from me no doubt. |
