Lucky you to have this as a backyard! You know, I'm amazed at how often I see beautiful landscapes or seascapes hanging in galleries that totally ignore the rule of thirds, and in fact wouldn't work nearly as well if that "rule" were followed. I say it's always best to go with your artistic instincts. Nice job on this!

I like how the reflection is clearer than the area being reflected. The golds are stunning. And what are you hiding for Free Study if you're showing us these marvelous things? The only nit I have is the gold weeds (?) right at the edge of the water appear very fuzzy and smudged - could well be an artifact of resizing for the web presentation. Seriously, though either this one or the other one would make great free study choices.

those metal grain thingys are a fantastic subject to photograph and your processing is excellent .. you've been doing a lot of burning off .. great results .. i keep meaning to do some on my images then i forget .. :)

OMG AGAIN !!!! and i totally agree that rules are meant to be broken .. this is another incredible photograph and process from you roger .. the last few i've commented on have literally taken my breath away .. i'm just reaching for the oxygen bottle right now .. they are THAT good .. i'm thinking that one of these would do heaps well in the free study ?? .. you may have one up your sleeve even better than the last few amazing photographs i've commented on .. good luck .. :)
