Lovely black and white. You have positioned the sign perfectly (a composition I probably wouldn't have thought of trying myself). Focus and exposure are lovely. Good work.

since there was no color contrast you might have tried black and white to heighten the light/dark contrasts

Beatifull colours. I find the branch in the upper left a bit distracting. I think a larger smaller aperture would have helped keep everything in focus. The lack of focus in the background makes it look like the branch is the main subject. I still think it's a nice shot. Good luck. Jacko

Critique Club Critique

(1) COMPOSITION (CONTENT) Well composed. The strong use of diagonal leading lines makes a very powerful composition. The use of the rule of thirds can be seen here as well. Well thought out.

(2) BACKGROUND I love the background that you have used, even if it was just handed to you :-). The is nothing more universally loved than a magnificant sunset. The texture in the clouds is one of the better examples I have seen in this challenge.

(3) CAMERA WORK ,TECHNICAL Exposure seems a little dark to me. I am wondering if you did any bracketing on this shot. With a lttle longer exposure, there might have been just a little more detail in the foreground, and that would have added another level of interest.

(4) DIGITAL PROCESSING ,TECHNICAL Good processing. Did you do any experimenting on cropping? I am thinking a little bit tighter crop would have cut out some the dark trees in the foreground and made up for the lack of detail.

(5)MEETING THE CHALLENGE This photo does a very good job of meeting the challenge.

(6) MY OPINION ON THE PHOTO A very beautiful photograph. I would love to see this with a nice border, maybe matching the color of the pink in the clouds. I am surprised this did not do better, I scored it very high mysewlf.

Beautiful color of the sky. Too much goings on in the foreground. I think the stuff at ground level is more distracting than the stuff up high. Most of it I think could be done without - Inspzil

I love the colors, but I think a view of only the "other side of the river" would be nice - get rid of the trees & shrubs directly in front of you.
