Which one to choose?? hmmmm...by andlbComment by ChipsDitchman: Choose the camera...then you can still take pictures of other peoples cars and submit them to that magazine or here. You can still take the bus if you need to and you're far more likely to be able to bum a ride off of someone then a 1Ds. |

Which one to choose?? hmmmm...by andlbComment by crabappl3: With the portrait orientation of the magazine, a portrait mode in your shot would be compositionally more pleasing. You also shot under tungsten lighting with your white balance not adjusted for it. This leaves a yellow cast to your shot. 5 -danny |

The Dearm Doctor-(Arthur B. Reeve)by andlbComment by mbardeen: Greets from the Critique Club:
Hi Andrej,
This is a decent portrait shot, like your previous submital. However it was hurt by the harsh lighting of the flash. I do like the humanity and the feeling present in this gentleman's face, but the rest of the photo does not really work for me. For one, I don't see the relationship to the title. He doesn't strike me as the doctor type (though I could be wrong). I think this is where you've lost most of the points with the voters, as the comments during the challenge indicate.
Anyway, as I said before, I'm not happy with the lighting, and I'm not happy with the composition. Combined they don't give a feeling of dynamism that should be present in a good photograph (i.e. The photo looks more like a snapshot then a art photograph)
I hope this helps and you have better luck with your next submission!
