uh-oh, I'm going to disagree with shez - I like the softness and the limited DoF. I think the flow of the image is broken though, my eye follows the stem from right to left, hits the leaf ... and is forced nearly straight down by the DoF when it really wants to follow the vein to the lower left corner -- maybe a crop w/o so much on the left? or the bottom? I dunno, I'll have to think about it! Either way you have an exceptional eye! :)

Excellent DoF and great textures on the leaf. I like the composition and feel you put the main vein on an excellent diagonal - lots and lots of interesting triangles! Very nicely done :)

I really like this picture, but I wish that the lighting wasn't so harsh. Perhaps you should try using a softbox, or just diffusing the light somehow (by bouncing it off a piece of foamboard, or even using a piece of fabric over the light source). Good job though. Very nice! Good luck!
