Crikey! It's a scorpion!! eek!! Nah, j/k LOL What a beautiful arachnid you have there! I like the bokeh on this shot, it speaks volumes :) Did you have the little booger strung up by his tail? Detail on the scorpion is GREAT and I love that he looks like he is just "hanging out" while the model is FREAKING out :)

ETA: Breed? Indiginous to?

Hi Ben,
Thanks for the comments - As usual I kept the lighting as simple as can be, because to be honest i am not that great at lighting - I am actually going on a weekend lighting course this year as i want to learn some more techniques. Any way I always meter for the background first and then set my light accordingly - I often try and put my subject in the shade to avoid hot spots from the sun. For this shot a softbox was placed just to the right of her - If you look closely at the sand you can see we just had enough shade to cover her totally but it was rising very quickly. I never have any help on these shoots - No assistants or anything so it's always a bit of a mad dash.
Cheers
Jeff

Stunning. Beautifully lit.
You can tell you're a pro, no questions.
I'd love to see a lighting set up here, or just how you did it?
