Rob, I liked this one when voting and didn't at all mind the fence there. To me, candids are about the humanity captured and his face and body language reflect some serious uncertainty. In fact, I quite liked the railing there. His proximity to the edge adds to that uncertainty feeling, that he's not sure he wants to move beyond it's protection. Your explanation in your notes confirms this.

This is a very nice photo. I really like the background, and the cicada is perfectly placed. I had no idea that they were so colorful! The oranges and blues are vibrant.
