IMG_9138-desolate-highcontr.jpgby Jaded_HousewifeComment by levyj413: I think this higher-contrast version conveys "desolation" better.
I'm starting to get an idea of what high contrast does: it takes whatever message or emotion you're trying to convey and makes it starker.
In this case, where the message was abandonment, I think the high contrast version is more powerful. The brighter sky is even more different from the building and the shadows virtually scream "hidden secrets from long ago." Message edited by author 2006-07-29 10:33:49. |

IMG_9138-desolate-highcontr.jpgby Jaded_HousewifeComment by Germaine: Just a thought, but I wonder if there is any way you could get rid of the stuff at the side of the building -- make it look like it is out by iteself with nothing around. I like the windows and doors here -- each one has become different. |

was there a reason you've cut off the 10th ducky?
the DoF looks very nice and the colors really pop out. |
Yeah, because they barely fit in the light tent so my choices were to squish him up against the others or expose the corners of the light tent. I didn't actually think people would notice that much since the focus was on the other side of the photo. but I guess I was wrong. lol. live and learn :) |
