It lacks sharpness... not from your focus, maybe, but from lack of a lens that will get you close enough to capture what you saw.

Your title is perfect, this is for sure a riot of colors. This image though, still conveys a lot of psychological emotion. My eyes are drawn to the expressions on the riders' faces, even amidst all that chaos. In addition to the emotion on their faces, there's also very subtle connections that they have with each other. This all adds to the composition of the image.
