Hi Mary,

Here is the promised critique, but I am no pro so take it with a grain of salt. I liked the contribution of the bokeh to what this shot is about, the formation of the army and canon behind does exactly what the challenge asked. Three things did not work for me, the graininess, the color and the angle of the shot. A lower angle would have worked better for me as well as some contrast/color variation. I scored it a 5 and think the setup was well thought out and the bokeh contributed towards your shot. Hope this is beneficial, writing this reminds me of all my flawed photos and I cringe as I write.

This image has great potential. The composition IMO is great. I really like the solid black background and I think the flowers are placed just right. One of the things that will hurt you is that it looks as if you have used a direct flash on your subject causing it to be too bright. A flash that you can bounce off of a ceiling or if you were outside try and get the sunlight to work in your favor. The other thing would be that it seems the focus is off just a tad. It seems to me that the focus is on the branch and not the flowers. I hope this helps.
