Personal Reaction: You have presented an image that really creates a sense of the person (yourself in this case.) I like the emotional payload! I also like that it is out-of-the-box. I am frankly tired of seeing the same genres over and over â€Â¦ this was refreshingly different.
Composition: Absolutely terrific. I can’t really add anything to the sentiment expressed in the many comments you received.
Technicals: Very good for your purpose. The lighting is exceptional. Focus could be stronger, but if it were, it wouldn’t be as good a photo. I am not wild about the border, but I don’t generally like borders
Conclusions: A fine photo you should be proud of. I can visualize this as a book-jacket photo of an author, or a movie poster photo for a crime or legal drama. I can also visualize it in a gallery as part of a show. It didn’t score particularly well because it wasn’t one of those happy, nice-nice photos or a member of one of the over exposed genres. Screw it, I thought it was well done and I liked it.
