i really dont think the hat was neccessary, this would be a great photo without it. i also would have had the apint on all of the skin(neck and ear at least, maybe not the hand) good choice for nail color.

The lighting is fairly good, but doesn't fit with the story. For me, something is off with the hand positioning. Have the "claws" draw blood so they serve a purpose, or in a different position to support the tears. Right now those fingers aren't doing anything worthy of tears. Creative composition tho - good use of a position to suggest a diagonal line which adds more interest than a face-on shot.
