Peas in the Middle Eastby RebeccaComment by lil_mo: Hey there:) I think it came out pretty well! I didn't vote since I knew it was yours but thought I'd comment now that voting is over and such.
I agree with one of your other commenters, that maybe a diff perspective might have helped the peace symbol stand out better. Also, my first impression was that the lighting is a little harsh- dark pea shadows in contrast to the highlights on the left being a bit blown, but overall a cool idea!

Never Too Oldby RebeccaComment by BeckyT: This cracks me up. I used to read Nancy Drew books all the time. Definately meets the challenge. |

The Flaming Snowballby RebeccaComment by _eug: Hmmmm... The first thing I notice when I look at this is the fuzzy halo caused by the blurring of the background. I think you over did it with the blur and your selection control needs a bit of work. For example look at her fingertips. They came out slightly fuzzy.
Just my personal preference, but since it's advanced I would have touched up the stray hairs by cloning.
I like the composition, except I'd like to see more of her expression (blocked by the hair) and the face of the girl in the background. |

The Flaming Snowballby RebeccaComment by hotpasta: Rebecca, I've read the threads and tried to understand your frustrations. I think the selective desat wasn't necessary, and if I can be so honest (and still remain friends), it looks like a snapshot taken by a proud mum at a carnival or ssomething. While she is pretty and has a lovely expression on her face, it lacks the kind of WOW factor needed to get more 6's, 7's and 8's...
I am also wondering if it would have been better to actually see the FUELLED BY CHOCOLATE rather than hide it, as it would have added a quirkiness to the shot...
still friends???

Never Too Oldby RebeccaComment by heathen: Becky, you're going to get a lot of comments about the background...but I think this is a cute shot. |
