Spinning in the Fires of Hellby landcameraComment by rider808: Very nice, but I have seen 2 shots of this same angle from other people. I wonder if there is another way of capturing this shot from a different, more original perspective. But eather way, I really like the shot. Nice work. |

Subterranean Magmaby landcameraComment by jerowe: Hello from the Critique Club, I'm Jon Rowe, and I will be looking at your image today :)
Being from southwest arkansas (magnolia) I will have to visit this, looks very inviting. i really enjoyed this image. it really portrays the topic well, but i feel like the blown highlight in top right center in front of the man's nose is too much. a faster shutter cold have been used i suppose.
the young man was the focus point, i'm guessing, for he's in great focus. the rock is what the eyes come to first, being the brightest/biggest point in the image. i really like this, great composition, great flow. maybe cutting a little off the top to where the top of the rock leads you out of the picture frame, and then back in with a slightly tighter crop from the left could help a little.
overall, great image, with a great score. i really like this.
bravo, and good luck on your future challenges :)

Subterranean Magmaby landcameraComment by LalliSig: Pretty cool shot! The crystal really looks like it´s on fire, nice job on lighting it, for obvious reasons this isn´t very believable as magma as the dude in the photo would have melted if it were, would have been so though if he were wearing a superman costume :)
Anyway, really like the shot and I am surprised it didn´t score better, I honestly think this is underrated. The only thing I can think of that I dislike is that it´s a bit tightly composed for my taste, would have liked to see a slightly wider shot but not by much, just to give it some more breathing space towards the top and left side. Lighting is good, it´s an interesting picture, fits the challenge and I would have rated this a 7 or even an 8 depending how I would have rated this to the rest of the challenge (I was in this challenge too and normally don´t vote on challenges I am in, with a few exceptions ofcourse) |
