Speedby KronusComment by LalliSig: Take this with a grain of salt since I normally like tack sharp, non abstract and artistic shots, I am pretty anal about image quality. That means that I normally don´t like blurry photos and well this does pretty much nothing for me. I think it´s a bit over the top, too much movement and not having a facial expression in there somewhere hurts the shot for me personally. Also just barely cutting off the feet like that doesn´t work for me. Again, I beg you to keep in mind that this is just me and I normally don´t like these kind of shots, this is the kind of shot you either love or hate and I bet there are tons of people who will love this. Keep on experimenting, I like that you seem unafraid of that :) |

Radar Loveby KronusComment by LalliSig: Pretty cool shot, works well and well done on all the technicals, it´s well exposed, composed and sharp as a tack! Only thing missing I think is that the photo is a bit monotone, would be so cool if you had something else of a different color in there to mix it up, like a yellow bee or hornet somewhere in the photo. Nice work! |

Armorvillaby KronusComment by zeuszen: The colours, the asymmetry of the walls, the
fact that the armadillo is made from authentic armadillo
associated with opulent romance on an old grade-one blackboard,
the apparent naiveté of set-up versus a killer perspective, these
are all crazy enough and presented in such contiguous taste and harmony...
as to corrupt my otherwise impeccable principles and prejudices, so
that I cannot help myself as I am awarding this magic a score
conventionally reserved for dead photographers. Message edited by author 2006-06-12 11:02:19. |

Radar Loveby KronusComment by Louis: Wow, luscious and gorgeous. Obviously the rich colour is a great feature of this photograph, but composition is also lovely. The petals radiate from the lower right in a very pleasing way. The water drops are a great touch, and refract the light nicely. I like the minimalist bokeh in the background. Nice and crisp too. People kill me for uneven depth of field when I use my Micro Nikkor, so I won't mention the retreating focus at right... whoops... ;) |

Armorvillaby KronusComment by jenesis: This is just bizarre and I love it! Can't really tell you why, there's just something about it. Bizarre. All the textures, the vignetting, the chalk board, the colors and the uuummmmm armadillo(??) awesome, but bizarre. 8 |

clone IIby KronusComment by Louis: Nice image. Aside from successfully making your kid look like a bobble-head, it's otherwise an interesting picture. Saturation is great, tone is rich and varied, and the focus on his eyes is outstanding. If this were my image, I'd give it a dutone treatment and burn out most of the background, perhaps using curves to enhance the highlights in his face and make it pop. With the distortion provided by your 10mm lens, it would have a great alternative effect, in my opinion. |

Game Boy Addictby KronusComment by arati_halbe: Hi David,
I like the lighting of the face in this picture.
What does not work for me here is the expression on the face. To me the expression is that the boy is not too happy with what he is doing. It should have either been that the boy is very happy/excited about something or "Oh Shit!" with his score or something.
Also, the focus and sharpness are not too great. |
