Gossipby yjoshiComment by MrXpress: I can't say I'm a huge fan of the dreamy, softish look, but it might work for others. I like the scene though. |

Blowing pipe under the candleby yjoshiComment by lucienaw: (¯`·._.·[Critique Club]·._.·´¯)
Well, where to begin... The idea for this photo was a good one and I think that with a bit more careful technical expertise, it could have been a winning shot.
The first problem is the grain in the image. This is commonly found when a digital camera takes a night shot. They tend to over-compensate and the result is a lot of 'noise' in the image. To avoid this you can either just shoot in lighter conditions, or you can use a much longer shutter speed.
The next thing is the camera shake. Always brace the camera when taking the picture, even if it's just on a pile of books or someone's shoulder; one has to do it to obtain a nice clear image.
I think that once those two pointers were undertaken, you'd end up with a lovely crisp, clear shot that would have at least doubled the place you received.
Good Luck for all Future Competitions!
