RadioFlyerby bspurgeonComment by blindjustice: Nice shot Ben, holds nostalgia, great feel in black and white, and you have the strict constructionalists seeing, ironically, "red!" Message edited by author 2012-01-16 14:09:23. |

RadioFlyerby bspurgeonComment by 4trtone: Very nice photo Ben. The shallow focus is well placed. It's an interesting composition. It has nice tones and deep blacks. I believe it has emotional impact too. I think it's irrelevant whether you know that radio flyers are red in color(although I'm sure many that did know and still gave you a low score). If this had been a mono photo of a telephone box, and I enjoyed it, I would have scored it highly too. I would give the photographer the benefit of the doubt assuming that they "saw" the photo as red when they made it. It's a shame people are so narrow minded. Sometimes you have to look beyond what is presented to you. |

RadioFlyerby bspurgeonComment by daisydavid: I saw red when I gave this a 7, I think it's time for a class action frontal lobotomy for all scores under that. Message edited by author 2012-01-16 09:29:20. |

RadioFlyerby bspurgeonComment by mcaldo: That's quite interesting, what our mind does at time. I mean.
a friend of my dad used to dive and fish coral pretty deep, up to 100m. He is a biologist as well, so perfectly aware that red bandwith is one of the first to kiss goodbye and disappear when diving deep. Still, he could swear he could see the coral as red anyway :)
This said, I have to admit my brain lacked the previous exposure to work out the trick wih this image, as you say it's a north American icon :) Message edited by author 2012-01-16 06:40:59. |
