Linesby shalrathComment by Bernard_Marx: That's really nice Dylan. I love how the lines finally slope to greet the walker. Nicely seen! |

Roofingby shalrathComment by shalrath: The conversion here was surprisingly simple.
1. Levels - Pull in the ends to increase contrast.
2. Add texture, a wall I picked up in India, and set the blending mode to Multiply (50%).
3. Erase a little of the texture off the little poles.
4. CS3 B&W layer, standard settings except for a sepia tone (42 degrees, 10% saturation).
5. A little hard light layer to darken the corners.
Voila. All done. |

Block Printsby shalrathComment by shalrath: Originally posted by Melethia: So this is how the fabrics get marked? Nice use of DOF. I trust that's metal? |
It's actually wood, India is quite famous for the woodblock printing technique in their handmade fabrics... funny story to go with this one... it's actually a fabricated factory... made up to lure tourists into buying cheap wares... hehe. |

Deb, I think that's probably why he's walking the bike and not riding. : ) |

Tajby shalrathComment by krnodil: You've got a really nice subject/texture pairing here; would suggest trying to mask out the texture from the actual building areas itself, to see how that might change the effect of the image. Actually, while I sit here looking at it more, you might experiment with masking out certain other areas to see what happens then - I'm thinking here especially of the bright white cloud areas, maybe being lightly masked out (some percentage below 100, to taste) to see how it makes things "pop out" of the shot. |

Day 7 - Everything Beautifulby shalrathComment by Melethia: I've looked at this several times now, and for quite awhile at each viewing. I really can't explain what draws me to it. I like how the fan is singularly crisp and sharp, but lightly so. I like the detrius (is that the word?) on the floor, the filth on the fan base. I like the person with the head illuminated almost to oblivion but not quite. And I really like the toning a lot. |
